Food for Thought Specialized Catering is a small catering business that specializes in catering all types of events accommodating small and large parties. We cater events such as birthday parties, weddings, corporate events, private dinners and more. We also offer specialty services to our customers so that they’ll stay connected, such as cooking classes, cooking demonstrations, meal prep parties and event planning.
After years of working in the field and becoming an experienced chef, Katina decided to start a catering business. Food For Thought was birthed in St. Louis MO, on March 29, 2016. Food for Thought is a small catering business that specializes in catering all types of events accommodating small and large parties. We cater events such as birthday parties, weddings, corporate events, private dinners and more. We also offer specialty services such as cooking classes, cooking demonstrations, meal prep parties and event planning. Our mission is to create an unforgettable spread of food by exceeding your expectations with innovative cuisine, exceptional customer service and a creative presentation.
Chef Katina now resides in Memphis TN, where she now operates her business. Food For Thought has gained high profile clientele and continues to thrive. Knowing that there is always room for growth and improvement, Katina continues to educate herself on her craft. Katina recently completed a 12-week entrepreneurial training program called “Operation Hope” through “First Horizon Bank” taught by Ms. Trudy Morrison. Chef Katina benefited from this program in so many ways that she has recommended it to other young entrepreneurs in the area. Chef Katina also does volunteer work for her community such as feeding the homeless, speaking to students at local schools about financial literacy and entrepreneurship in hopes to restore positivity in the City of Memphis.
Food For Thought is currently certified to do business with the City of Memphis, Shelby County Government, University of Tennessee (all locations), Shelby County Schools, MLGW, and Memphis International Airport. Along with being a certified local small business, minority and woman owned business, Food For Thought also has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau since March of 2019.
As Katina strives to be great and a team player, she plans to help up and coming chefs on their journey with providing them with the tools to be successful.
