Meet Our Head Shef™

Katina Johnson is a specialty chef and catering coordinator from St. Louis, MO. Katina was born June 3, 1990 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Only after 4 months of being born, Katina was adopted and move to St. Louis MO, where she was raised. Her mom cooked at home often, showing her a little at a time as she grew into a young adult. With food being one of the major keys to bring her family together, Tina was bound for greatness. When Chef Tina enrolled into culinary school, she didn’t know what to expect. After weeks of classes, she realized that she was a natural. Katina received praise and acknowledgement from peers and instructors on her talents and that set fuel to her fire. She then went on to become a student ambassador, helping new enrolled students settle in and showing them the ends and outs of becoming a chef. Katina graduated Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts in St. Louis, MO with a 4.0 GPA and received recommendations from her culinary instructors to help jump start her career. After graduation, she began intensive training as a sous chef for various casinos, as well as high end resort & spas. Perfecting her skill and earning a reputation for savory dishes and expertise in executive catering. Her culinary philosophy “specialize in what you’re cooking at the moment” is the spirit in which she creates each impressive and flavorful dish. Katina’s passion for everyday cooking and her refined skill yields an extra ounce of “deliciousness” in every dish of her repertoire. All clients served by Chef Katina, love her specialty catering and remember her personalized service, for she nourishes the palette and the soul with Food for Thought!

After years of working in the field and becoming an experienced chef, Katina decided to start a catering business. Food For Thought was birthed in St. Louis MO, on March 29, 2016. Food for Thought is a small catering business that specializes in catering all types of events accommodating small and large parties. Chef Katina benefited from this program in so many ways that she has recommended it to other young entrepreneurs in the area.
